FW Series Friction Welding Machine

General Desciption

Friction welding is a variety of Solid Sate Welding. Friction welding machines convert mechanical energy into heat at the point to be welded.
Frictional heat at the joint interface raises the metal to forging temperature. Axial pressure forces the hot metal out of the joint, removing oxides, surface impurities with soft hot metal.
Two major techniques for friction welding are available:
One part must be held rigidly to resist low axial force while the other is rotated until the cross section is heated  sufficiently and then forging force is applied.

The second technique is called Inertia welding where energy is stored in a flywheel that was accelerated to required  speed by a drive motor. Then weld is made by applying an axial force through the rotating part while flywheel decelerates, transforming its kinetic energy to heat at the joint.




Main Features and Advantages
Compared to traditional fusion welding, friction welding has high quality of welded joints, high welding efficiency, stable quality, and can realize welding of dissimilar materials.

1,The welding accuracy of the joint is high, the quality is good, the welding point can reach the same strength as the base material.
2,Stable, good consistency, friction welding rejection rate is very low, is about 1% of the general welding method.
3,Suitable for welding dissimilar steels and dissimilar metals.
4,Low power, high efficiency and energy saving, compared with flash welding, the energy saving is about 80~90%.
5,The friction welding work site is hygienic, without sparks, arcs and harmful gases, which is conducive to environmental protection and is suitable for use in automatic production lines together with other advanced metal processing methods.
